Sea vegetables are among the most delicious and nutritious of the earth’s bounty. Dulse (Palmaria palmata) is a red seaweed which grows abundantly in the North Atlantic Ocean. Its beauty lends this plant to craft projects, crafted paper and dried arrangements. Its nutritional value is beyond compare.

Dulse has a mild seafood flavor, slightly salty and delicious. It provides more than 100% of the daily amount of Vitamin B6, 66% of Vitamin B12, a days supply of iron and fluoride and it is relatively low in sodium and high in potassium. Dulse supplies many of the essential elements needed for the body’s balance.

On the spiritual side, Dulse is a feminine plant, ruled by the Moon. Its element, of course, is water. In magical lore and use, Dulse is added to drinks to induce lust ;) and encourages harmony when sprinkled around the home. In sea rituals, it is thrown in to calm the spirits of the seas.
